Covid-19 – Our Response
Palomar Laundry provides commercial laundry services to several resorts across San Diego county. While the CDC ranks the risk of viruses surviving on soiled textiles as extremely low, we still view the health of everyone using the linen we process as our top priority. Although we service the hospitality market exclusively, our approach to processing laundry including range of equipment, chemicals, and other variables that influence viral kill largely mirrors that of major healthcare laundries. Below are some of those variables:
- A Continuous batch washer (aka tunnel-washer) make it impossible to shortcut the wash process and ensures absolute consistency of duration, water level, temperature and chemical dosing – all of which are crucial to effective viral kill
- A range of Ecolab industrial strength laundry agents with EPA approved disinfection properties, delivered to the wash process by a state-of-the-art system with ‘proof of delivery’ technology.
- Clean laundry is transported automatically from tunnel-washer to dryers thereby eliminating a human touchpoint.
- Dryers unload automatically, eliminating another touchpoint.
- Large tumble dryers and industrial ironers operate at higher temperatures providing additional thermal disinfection.
- Automated folding machines eliminate further human handling.
- Once complete to ship, linen is covered with a plastic cart cover to protect against the introduction of any airborne contaminants.
